Thinking of going on holiday this year? Us women love nothing more than getting away from it all and sunning ourselves, so what better way to prepare yourself than with a few handy tips.
Let’s start with location, where are you choosing to go? Maybe somewhere hot, somewhere with a beach, maybe with lots of sightseeing! We can tell you now, you would not be disappointed, and here’s why…..
The first place we are going to explore is Dubai, most known for it’s beautiful tall buildings, luxury lifestyle, magnificent beaches & all things fabulous really! Did you know that The Burj Khalifa is one of Dubai’s tallest buildings? Fun fact hey. The skyline in Dubai is said to be the prettiest and most breath taking of all, which is perfect for the photographer in the family, there are Mosques to explore, beaches, aquariums and many many more beautiful things to see.
As the above is very exciting, we know one can get carried away, so we need to remember to take care of ourselves whilst visiting the beautiful Dubai, why you ask, the heat is the main reason. Make sure to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, using plenty of sun cream will also help moisturise your skin and keep it from burning, but also giving it that sun kissed beautiful look.

Being that we are all about hair, of course it would be the most important thing! Yes yes we hear you when you say ‘but it doesn’t stay in the style I put it in, it frizzes a lot, it dries out in the heat.’ Well…we can help with this.
Sun light, air conditioning & sea water…all the good stuff it seems, can have negative effects on your hair. Unfortunately, they do take a toll on your hair and scalp and can dry up quite easily. Hair fall is very common in high heat and it can be very frustrating when we have spent so long styling it for the day ahead to find an hour later it has lost it’s body and look.
Using spray serums and leave in conditioner creams can be a great advantage to avoiding frizz and split ends and leaving your hair to dry naturally can be very beneficial. We understand this can be very difficult for us ladies to do as we do always try to aim for perfection but why not give it a try and see, you never know it could be your best look yet. Obviously drying naturally isn’t always the case for everyone’s hair, however it does help your hair stay pretty glossy and fresh.
Why not play about with your hair whilst on holiday, Dubai is known for it’s edginess, for being different and standing out from any other country in the world, so why not do the same? Really get to know your hair, what suits you? What suits your surroundings? Below are a few ideas of getting creative with your look, and why not! You’re on holiday, lets mix it up a bit and try something new…you never know you may see others copying your style.

You may like the natural tight curl look, the thickness of your hair would determine the bounce and fullness you get. Remember if you don’t naturally have thick hair, not all is lost, you can still achieve this style, we recommend adding a few extension pieces, just to add that extra volume you desire. This look can be fun in the sun, but easy to take care of whilst in the sun all day. You will certainly get heads turning.

It is important to think about evening hairstyles too, in Dubai you can imagine the glitz and glam is everywhere you look, so why not join in the fun ladies? Dress up for the occasion and really be the one that has that extra sparkle. That’s why the below is perfect for this kind of location/holiday. It shows off the length of your hair, but also having it styled to the side adds that bit extra.

So just to clarify our tips for your holiday getaways this year……
- Throughout the day make sure you drink plenty of water, this will help your
skin/scalp but mostly your hair, it will help it stay strong and keep it’s gorgeous glow.
- Heat protection serums and leave in conditioner creams or sprays are essential to maintaining healthy hair and scalp.
- During the day whilst around the pool wear your hair up in a bun, this helps keep your hair away from the chlorine and stop split ends/if you have shorter hair, wear a funky stylish hat to also keep that protection.
That is all for part 1 of Travel Hair. I hope you ladies enjoyed the information and tips above as we feel it will benefit you greatly on your breaks away. So remember to try something new and different with your hair, be that one in the crowd that everyone sees!!
