Finding the right hair change for you part 4 : The not-so-permanent changes.

Hello and welcome back to our January Hair Journey Series.

If you haven’t already, please check out the little intro to change that we wrote, and the first, second, and third tips of the series.

But now on to the fourth hair change tip…

Not-so-permanent changes.

What’s great about the hair and beauty industries is that they offer so much that caters to so many people. Some of us may want to have a “drastic” hair transformation without the commitment. Reasons being that we don’t want to cause too much damage to our hair, or instantly regret our decision, or even just because we want a little bit of colour without all the effort.  Great thing, is that there are so many products, tips & tricks out these days that allow us to have the hair-freedom to do whatever we like!

1) Hair Mascara

Remember the hair mascara of the ’90s, that let you change your hair colour with the flick of a wand? It’s still around! This is a temporary colour that you apply directly to your locks. You can layer on more as desired for a brighter, more vivid colour, or keep it subtle by adding light, thin streaks. It usually lasts 1-2 shampoos, so it’s great when you just want to add some colour for a special event or even a week-long vacation!

2) Hair Chalk

Hair chalk lets you easily add all sorts of colours without much commitment. Simply wet your hair to get it ready for the colour, separate it into sections, then run the chalk down your strands. Chalking your hair gives you a lot of control over the end result, and it usually lasts 2-4 shampoos. However, if you have light hair, it might last longer than that.

3) Coloured Hairspray

Exactly what it says on the tin – hairspray with added colour! While this is a generally temporary technique, lasting 2-4 shampoos, depending on the spray.  Keep in mind that it usually lasts longer if you have lighter hair, just like hair chalk. So if your doing fancy dress anytime soon, you can always just get some spray & wah la your costume is complete! The best thing being that tomorrow you’ll be back to your normal self.

4) Semi-Permanent Hair Dye

This is the next step up when it comes to colouring your hair. Semi-permanent hair dye has no ammonia content, so it sits on the outside of the hair cuticle and acts as a stain. So whilst they last longer than hair chalk and spray (usually around 4-12 shampoos), they won’t be vivid forever — unless, of course, you bleach your hair beforehand. Bleached, porous hair can take on a semi-permanent shade and maintain it for considerably longer.

5) Demi-Permanent Hair Dye

More powerful than a semi-permanent but not as strong as a permanent, this is your best bet if you want a bold hair colour that will last. Demi-permanent dyes contain ammonia, allowing them to last longer, usually around 12-28 shampoos as it penetrates a little deeper into the hair cuticle.

Of course drastic transformations doesn’t always mean colouring, some of us could be debating about growing our hair out. Or there could be a few of us who have cut our hair short and regret it, or are so over it and want long hair again. Add some volume and length to your hair, and transform your look with the help of our luxury hair extensions. With so many colours, lengths and styles to choose from, you get great quality 100% human hair for an incredibly reasonable price!

We’re sure that whatever hair change you decide to do in 2017 will look amazing! We truly hope that our tips this January have helped you to decide what change you want and how to accomplish it whilst keeping your hair healthy.

Thank you so much for reading, please share and stay tuned because we have some more exciting content coming very soon!

Until next time stay beautiful, and keep your hair stunning!
