Girls Night Out Part 1. Little Black Dress

Nothing beats the feeling of getting together with your closest friends for a good night out. Have a giggle, have a glass (or several!) of the sparkly stuff and catch up on gossip. Girls night out isn’t just about getting out, it’s an opportunity to connect with people you feel comfortable with and most importantly, a chance to let your hair down! Well, when we say letting our hair down, it all depends on your outfit of course. Hair up or down, it doesn’t really matter, here at BriaHair we’re all about making you feel good about your hair, so read on for some tips to create the perfect girl’s night out.

Traditionally, girls’ night begins with getting ready, each slick of eyeliner deserves a swig of prosecco and then the selfies can begin. So, big decision first, what are you going to wear? There are so many hot new looks out there at the moment. After a shopping trip and an evening trying on 90% of your wardrobe, you’ll be (fingers crossed) all set. Get the hairspray and lipstick ready girls, we’re coming to get you. ☺

LBD

You’ve picked the wardrobe staple – The classic Little Black Dress. The great thing about the LBD is that almost any style can work with it. We heart this selection of LBD’s but everyone has their own favourite.

A good style to start with is sleek and straight. Get friendly with your straighteners because they are going to help you perfect your look. Don’t forget to apply heat protection products! You can add a cheeky flick to the ends, to add interest too.

Straight hair doesn’t have to be boring either, Mila Kunis looks great with smooth dark locks but she’s added some height at the crown to make the style look ultra-sexy.

Girls Night Disasters

As much as we love our girls’ nights, let’s face it, they rarely occur without the odd disaster or three. One of several things will probably happen; someone will be late, someone will cry and by the end of the evening, someone will no doubt put in the drunk call to the ex. That’s without adding weather catastrophes to the list.

After spending hours straightening and perfecting your sleek look, you set one foot out the door and the heavens open. By the time you arrive you look like you’ve spent the afternoon doing Bikram yoga and resemble fluffy haired Merida from the Brave movie. Definitely not what you had in mind for the evening. Worry not. If you’ve not got straighteners to hand, then run to the nearest loo, get the tap running and start slicking it back.

The slick back pony looks chic but it’s simple and speedy. All you need is a brush, and a hairband. Start by brushing your hair, using water to smooth the sides as you go. Secure your pony with a hairband and then spritz the sides with hairspray for extra hold. Take a small section from the underside of your pony and wrap it around the band to conceal, then more hairspray to finish the look. It oozes class and sophistication, and it goes down a treat with your LBD. Disaster averted!

Prefer your hair down? Another look for straight or curly hair is to add a little twist with the help of some bobby pins. Take a small section of hair from one side, then twist it to the ends and secure it in place, in the middle of your head with a bobby pin. Repeat the other side. This looks super cute and adds some spice to your look. You can also add some waves using your straighteners or curling irons to this gorgeous style.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll give you our top hotspots for the trendiest night out with the girls. This week we’re focusing on London. You can’t beat our buzzing and upbeat capital for a good evening’s entertainment. There’s literally hundreds of amazing bars and clubs in London, so it was difficult to feature just three but we’ve chosen the ones we heart the most.
For a girls night out with the emphasis on party, head down to Barrio in Shoreditch high street. Full of Latin attitude this place has the funkiest décor around with a hint of Tropicana. Serving street food and cocktails with a kick, you can let your hair down for a boogie or snuggle up in La Caravana for a gossip. 
For a slightly more upmarket night, head over to Kensington Roof Gardens for the ultimate hip hotspot. With three themed gardens, running streams and flamingos (yes, we said flamingos, real ones!) how could you resist? Perfect for selfies and very exclusive (you’ll need to book), their dress code simply states “no effort, no entry”. Perfect for flaunting that LBD. 
If you’re looking for something fun, you can’t go wrong with The Pink Chihuahua at El Camion. This funky basement bar is a lively place to take your girlfriends for drinking and dancing. There’s loads of tequila based drinks on offer, and plenty of others if you’re not a tequila fan, then later on boogie on down to the cheesy tunes for a totally fab night out you’ll be talking about for months afterwards.
