The glamorous and opulent occasion will convey a wintery theme, encompassing a colder and cooler time of the year. We are thinking darker shades and heavier styles, keeping you looking both cool and comfortable in the cool air. Once more we give you the very best hairstyles to match this years sensational occasion. Of course we all know that when Milan does fashion there is no subtly in it, and that also goes for hairstyles. This time around it’s all about the elaborate up dos, the show-stopping big hair and the all-time classic bouffant imbued with a wintery twist.
The Braid
Milan is known for its opulence, and this elaborate up do perfectly conveys the cities love for the luxurious. The plaited bun is the perfect look for this year’s occasion. The style can be both simple and dramatic, and always maintains its beautifully sophisticated look. It is perfect for those with long or mid length hair, and can be styled in a variety of ways. The plait can be positioned either at the front of the head or across the back, either way it’s all about the details with this style and the integration of the plait just adds to its fabulous glamour. You can do either a halo braid, waterfall braid or a fishtail plait, neatly across the back or running along the side of the head, the tip is to create an almost messy elegant bun to accompany it, with the two styles marrying to create an enigmatic and mesmerising finish.
Don’t be afraid to add decorative pieces to the plait or do numerous smaller plaits to add to its magnificence. Going with this year’s wintery theme, warm reddish brown hues are perfect for the season. Clip in some decorative flowers head pieces or add any warm toned ribbons through the plait. If you want to go all out Milanese style add some beautiful opulent jewels for that prestigious look.
Tip: Start with the plait, once completed, gently loosen the strands to create a more voluminous look. Create one or multiple smaller ones running parallel. Create your messy bun by first adding hairspray, then gently brush through before setting the style. Finish with some more hairspray and play around with it by gently tugging until your satisfied.
