Hair Extension Summer Series: Part 2

Welcome back to the Hair Extension Summer Series! We hope you have taken some advice from part one and decided on what extensions will be best for you over the coming weeks. So, now you have booked your all-inclusive resort, crammed enough bikinis to last a year, and returned from the salon; all that’s left to do is decide on how you’re going to style out these extensions of yours. In today’s instalment, we will be showing you some hairstyles you can pull off with your extensions, in keeping of some of the latest styles.

Short hair is making a comeback. Taking inspiration from the likes of Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, and songstress Dua Lipa, the bob and lob cuts could have not made better timing. These short hairstyles are perfect for keeping you cool in the heat, whilst staying on trend. Wigs are ideal for recreating this look – they will protect your natural hair, whilst the short length means you do not have to compromise cutting your own hair, and becoming a little too scissor happy. Just recently the beautiful Irina Shayk debuted her seemingly drastic new bob cut to Instagram, later revealing that her new look was in fact a wig. Furthermore, if you do choose to go for a lob wig, it is long enough to tie up, without the fear of any tracks showing, as you may with a weave.

Beach waves are a classic, making their annual appearance as soon as the sun hits. Although not necessarily a style to keep your hair out of your face, as we discussed in our last post, if you choose to wear clip ins you can still easily keep cool by being in control of how much weight you add/ remove to your hair. Even better, is that this look is easy to complete yourself if you do not wish to visit the salon. Fear not, if you do not have a curling iron or hair straighteners; simply plait your hair (with extensions attached) in two, wrap into space buns and leave overnight, removing plaits in the morning. However, if you will be applying heat to your hair, be mindful that some extensions are not suitable for such, so be sure to check your packaging or with your stylist. Being said, high quality, human hair extensions will not have this issue.

Get fancy with a high pony? We have recently seen a trend for high ponytails re-emerge, but with a twist on this timeless style to revitalise the look. See Condola Rashad at the 2018 Tony Awards, style a sleek, high pony with metallic cuffs. Why not try adding cuffs or another type of accessory? You may be questioning how you can pull off this look with extensions without tracks, tape, or clips being on show, right? Well, an individual clip in ponytail would be ideal for this hairstyle. Just ensure that the texture and colour match your natural hair, and you can’t go wrong.

We hope you enjoyed reading today’s segment and stayed tuned until next week where we will discuss how you can change up your look even more for the summer by adding a pop of colour. Let us know what you thought of today’s blog down below.
